Online auctions offer advantages to both the buyer and seller
Online auctions are an easy and secure way for more people to participate in the auction of a home, equipment or personal property items. For every online auction, we get thousands of views online for the items. Technology is advanced such that people can be notified on their cell phones of the bidding or bid from the comfort of their home. Online auctions are convenient and allow us to sell any amount of items from anywhere which includes Estates, Downsizing, Collections and Liquidations. We also host a wide variety of auctions.
How Online Auctions Work
Preview Options
If an auction is happening on-site and not at our facility, a seller can decide whether we hold a preview period at the location where buyers can view the items in person.
Preview Of The Lots
Once the auction is uploaded to our site the items are open for pre-bids. We usually put the auction online for 2 weeks: 1 week for preview online followed by 1 week of bidding.
Sale Of The Lots
This is where most people notice the biggest difference in online vs. live sales: On the day the auction closes, the final bidding takes place within a 1 – 2 hour time frame.
Pickup of Purchases
After the auction has closed, we set a removal time where buyers can pick up their purchases.

Why buy at an estate sale?
Buying at an estate sale can save you a lot of money for furnishing a cottage or setting up a student in an apartment. The selection of collectibles and antiques at estate sales can be an incredible treasure trove for the enthusiastic collector.
Are all the auctions you run done online?
No. We still hold live on-site auctions but we find more and more clients are preferring to host auctions online. Sometimes we run auctions on-site and online which helps draw a larger audience.
I miss the atmosphere of an auction. Will you go back to doing strictly live auctions in the future?
Given the better market for our consignors (those who we are working for) and the better prices they are receiving for their items, it is not likely that we will discontinue our online auctions. We do however hold weekly auto auctions and a wide assortment of other auctions that are live and provide an energetic and friendly atmosphere.
