Estate Sale Services
Online estate and downsizing auctions are a growing trend that allows individuals or families to sell items from an estate or those looking to downsize their homes in an efficient and convenient way. These auctions are typically held on a specialized online platform where bidders can browse and bid on a variety of items, from furniture and antiques to collectibles and personal belongings. Just remember, the marketplace will determine what the real price is for you assets. No More. No Less.
McKenzie’s Associated Auctioneers holds a minimum 3 auctions per week. Including Vehicle Auctions, Returned Merchandise Auction and any other auctions.
Here are some key points about online estate/downsizing auctions:
Benefits:
- Convenience: Auctions are conducted entirely online, so there’s no need to physically attend an auction. Bidders can participate from the comfort of their own homes.
- Wider Audience: Online auctions can attract bidders from all over, which increases the chances of items being sold at competitive prices.
- Variety of Items: Estate and downsizing auctions typically feature a wide range of items, including valuable antiques, art, household goods, collectibles, and even vehicles.
- Transparency: The auction process is usually straightforward, and bidders can see exactly what they’re bidding on, along with descriptions and photos.
What You Can Expect to Find:
- Furniture: Dining tables, chairs, couches, side tables, and more.
- Artwork: Paintings, prints, sculptures, and collectibles.
- Jewellery: Rings, necklaces, watches, and heirloom pieces.
- Collectibles: Coins, vintage toys, sports memorabilia, and more.
- Home Goods: Kitchenware, home décor and appliances.
- Outdoor Items: Lawn equipment, garden furniture, and tools.
How it Works:
- Set-Up: The items to be auctioned are photographed and listed online with descriptions, everything remains at the home.
- Advertising – The catalogue will be marketed through various channels including website, social media and targeted email. Our full email list for all auctions consists of 50,000 recent bidders!
- Bidding: Registered bidders place bids on the items they’re interested in, and the auction continues for a set period of time (usually two weeks).
- Winning: At the end of the auction, the highest bidder for each item wins.
- Payment & Pickup: Winning bidders pay for their items and a receipt is sent. Buyers come to the house to pick up their items.
- Payment to the Consignor – You will receive a cheque and a complete auction settlement including itemization of sales, commission and expenses (i.e. auction fees, advertising, labor, misc.)
